VITAMINS

Vitamins are organic compounds which are essential in small amounts to the life and health of humans and animals. Vitamins cannot be adequately synthesized in the human body, so they must be consumed regularly as part of the diet.

There are 13 different vitamins. As each performs a distinct Biochemical function, they are not substitutable for each other such as water soluble vitamins B1, B2, B6 B12, Niacin, Calpan (The Calcium salt of pantothenic acid) Biotin and Folic acid as well as the oily soluble vitamins such as Vitamin A, D, E, and K.

Vitamins are used as additives to human food and drinks for their nutritional properties, and they are also employed commercially as additives to livestocks to livestock feeds to ensure optimal nutrition.

VITAMIN PREMIX

Premixes are a mixture of Vitamins and possibly other products such as minerals, thus called Vitamin/Mineral Premix. Others are its mixtures with amino acids, pigments, pharmaceuticals which are widely used in the preparation of some food and beverages for human consumption. Premixes are the major market route to final use for some Vitamins
